"People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success."

AAMFT/CAMFT Supervision of Supervision
I am dedicated to my role as a Clinical Supervisor and love supporting Therapists in their professional journey. I have been providing clinical supervision since 2014 and am a AAMFT approved Clinical Supervisor since 2018. I have provided supervision to graduate and postgraduate students helping them with treatment conceptualization in a theory of their choice. The foundation of my approach is from postmodern and social constructionism philosophies. Therefore, my style as a Therapist weaves in the foundations of Motivational Interviewing, Attachment, Narrative and Solution Focused therapies. Our discussions will often involve intersectionality and values that may feed your supervision style.
I currently am only providing individual mentoring and the rate is $175/hour.

Working with Michelle has been an invaluable part of my learning journey. As a new supervisor, it was so helpful for me to have her support as I put this new skill-set into practice. In our consultations, Michelle offered practical feedback, thoughtful reflections, and guiding questions. This all helped me work through any issues I was facing while simultaneously developing a holistic and nuanced view on my role as a supervisor within larger systems. Her mentorship and validation also contributed to my growing confidence in being able to support my own supervisees while prioritizing high quality client care.

I was fortunately connected to Michelle when I was searching for a AAMFT mentor. Her theoretical orientation and values align with my interests and areas that I wanted to grow. Prior to starting with the AAMFT approved supervisor track, I have been a practicing clinical supervisor. Michelle was able to meet me where I was at in my supervision journey and challenge me in a way to help connect my approach with theories. I also enjoyed the safe space to talk about cultural humility, address my own biases and explore intersectionality, which helped me with self of a therapist and as a supervisor. Having an idea of what I wanted to work on and Michelle having the skill set to support, created a good relationship for my growth as a supervisor.

Michelle was an exceptional supervisor who consistently demonstrated a passion to support her supervisee with providing the best care, a commitment to excellence. Her supervisor style is characterized by her ability to inspire and motivate, encouraging me to think outside of the box. As Michelle would bring her own expertise and examples in the supervision space, she does not just give me the answer, but rather supports me with coming to my own conceptualization and formulation or treatment, which I really appreciated. Michelle has great strengths and knowledge that supported me through various areas of treatment.
Overall, Michelle provides a safe and supportive environment for growth, which made significant contributions to the success of my identity as a therapist. Her guidance, communication skills, and ability to inspire have been instrumental allowing me to strive for a higher standard in supporting my supervisee and the individuals clients I serve.- Yen D
