A Relationship with Depression

This week is Depression Awareness Week.  Depression is HARD.  It is not just sadness.  It is not something that a person can just shrug off.  It is another type of a toxic relationship where depression's influence is unique to that person.  Depression sneaks up on you and you don't even know it is there until it is too late.  It is a relationship you did not sign up for.  Soon, the weight and strength of depression is so much that you may start to forget who you are.  It becomes a part of you and hope may seem too far away to grasp.

Here's the thing, there was a time that depression wasn't around.  There was a time that you fought back against Depression and won.  Then there were times that maybe you felt like all you can do is manage it and not have it make your decision in that moment.  Below is a great video on the relationship a person can have with depression.  And that there is hope and you don't have to feel defeated.
